His partner has also spoken of the "beautiful person" he was.
More friends and musical admirers have paid tribute to George Michael following his death on Christmas Day.
"George Michael's sweet soul music will live on even after his sudden death," reflects Paul McCartney. "Having worked with him on a number of occasions, his great talent always shone through and his self deprecating sense of humour made the experience even more pleasurable."
Adds Brian May: "I just saw the sad news about George Michael as I was heading for bed. I don’t have the words. This year has cruelly taken so many fine people way too young. And George? That gentle boy? All that beautiful talent? Can't begin to compute this. RIP George. Sing with Freddie. And the Angels."
Meanwhile, his celebrity hairdresser partner, Fadi Fawaz, has spoken to the Daily Telegraph about discovering George dead in his Oxfordshire home.
“I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed,” he says. “We don’t know what happened yet. Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I. Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was – he was a beautiful person.”
The singer had been working on Freedom, a documentary featuring the likes of Stevie Wonder, Elton John, James Corden and Liam Gallagher, which was due to screen in March on the Showtime network. It was being timed to coincide with the re-release of 1990's classic Listen Without Prejudice album.
