Plan B to perform on Later.. with Jools Holland tonight
Meanwhile the singer/rapper's latest album The Defamamtion Of Strickland Banks has reached No 9 in the Irish album chart
Plan B, AKA 26 year old Londoner Ben Drew, is set to appear on Jools Holland's show tonight to perform tracks from new album The Defamamtion Of Strickland Banks. The album - a follow up to his debut, the gritty Who Needs Actions When You Got Words, has reached the No 1 spot in the UK album chart.
In an interview with Hot Press (in the new issue, out on Thursday), Drew says of his new soulful sound: "The only reason I didn't come out as a soul singer in the public eye before, was because I hadn't been vocally trained and I wasn't very confident."
The album, which juxtaposes Drew's sweet Motown-style vocal with a uncompromising and often violent subject matter, has clearly proven the singer managed to overcome those nerves! Current single 'She Said' is currently sitting at No 20 in the Irish chart, and No 4 in the UK.
