Pugwash confirm album release + reveal artwork
The Olympus Sound will be with us in August.
The mighty Pugwash have confirmed the August 19 release of The Olympus Sound, their fifth studio album, which finds the Dublin power poppers hooking up with EMI Ireland.
Recorded in Nick Seymour’s Exchequer Studio in Dublin and mixed in London’s legendary Abbey Road, its trailed on June 24 by lead single ‘Answers On A Postcard’, which respectfully doffs its cap to Jeff Lynne and George Harrison.
Other tracks include ‘There You Are’, ‘To The Warmth Of You’, ‘Fall Down’, ‘Heal Me’, ‘Dear Belinda’, ’15 Kilocycle Tone’, ‘I Don’t Like It But I Gotta Do It’, ‘Here We Go ‘Round Again’, ‘Such Beauty Thrown Away’, ‘See You Mine’ and ‘Four Days’.
Captain Pugwash is Thomas Walsh, a.k.a. one-half alongside Neil Hannon on the Ivor Novello-nominated, cricket-loving funsters who are the Duckworth Lewis Method.
Guests on the collection include the aforementioned Mr. Hannon, Ben Folds and XTC duo Andy Partridge and Dave Gregory.
