Ahead of their album release – the wonderfully entitled The Art Of Insincerity – on October 6, RoySeven have their debut single 'Older' on the shelves as of today.
And to celebrate, the Dublin six-piece will be doing their indie rock thing in record stores in Dublin all weekend.
Namely: HMV Grafton St. at 1pm today, Tower Records Wicklow St. at 3pm tomorrow and Dundrum Town Centre on Sunday.

With their epic, anthemic sound, Royseven seemed set for uber-stardom, especially in Germany where they were groomed by the local branch of Universal Records. But a shake-up at the label and a lay-off of several years means it’s very much a case of starting over for the Dubliners. Strange to win a Hope For 2007 award after releasing a Top 20 album on a big international label – I’m guessing the ‘hope’ is that there’ll be a future for the Tipp sextet. For this to happen, they’re going to have to do a lot better than the rather bland ‘I’m Revived’. Their commendable live efforts just don’t come across on CD which means that while Paul Walshe begs you not to “saaaaaay it’s over yet” you kind of wish it never started.

Having spent the summer in Europe wowing huge festival audiences, Royseven are now concentrating on matters of a domestic nature. Phil Udell joins them as they experience the highs, lows and drunken dancing eejits of the Irish live circuit.
2006-11-02 - Interview
It’s always interesting when an Irish band appear from nowhere all but perfectly formed. Mind you, Royseven have previous form as Jove, and have been honing their new incarnation around the Europe circuit. Both factors show through on a confident, emotive and expensive-sounding debut that attempts to muscle in on the already crowded epic rock market.

The Artists Formerly Known As Jove, Royseven, open their recorded account with the September 8 release of ‘Older’, the first single to be lifted from their The Art Of Insincerity album, which follows in October.
