SOAK and Girls Names to play Good Vibrations launch party
Some of Northern Ireland's most talented acts are coming together to celebrate the launch of the Terri Hooley biopic...
After months of awards, acclaim and premieres, Good Vibrations, the film that deals with the extraordinary life and times of Terri Hooley, is finally getting its official release on March 29.
To celebrate it's on-screen arrival, a special launch party is taking place this Sunday, March 24 in Belfast's Empire.
The party will feature a diverse range of Northern Irish musical talent including Derry teenager SOAK, Belfast's Girls Names whose The New Life album is currently creating plenty of hype, drone-pop outfit Documenta, and the coastal vibes of Sea Pinks.
DJ Jeff Doherty will be spinning 1970s post-punk disco in between acts. Once you're over 18 it's an open door on the night, but do get down early as capacity is limited to 500.
Check out the Good Vibrations trailer below.
Also we've added on a David Holmes remix of Documenta's 'Gentle's Yard' which featured on their 2012 album Dronepop #2. Holmes has just finished working on Primal Scream's new album, and we think this track – that surfaced yesterday –sums up everything that is great with Northern Irish music at the moment.
