Seasick Steve to be honoured in Belfast

A plaque commemorating his 2005 visit to the Open House Festival is to be unveiled.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 31 Aug 2010

The Coors Light Open House Festival is to honour Seasick Steve on September 12 when he brings this year’s bash to a close in Custom House Square.

A silver plaque is being erected in the nearby John Hewitt pub to commemorate the American playing his first-ever solo gig there in 2005.

According to Steve: “If I hadn’t done that gig at the Open House Festival, I don’t think I’d be playing music now.”

For tickets to this and other gigs see www.openhousefestival.com.
