The acts for this year's festival plan to attract audiences from all over Ireland.

Sinéad O’Connor, The Proclaimers and Dervish are the headline acts for this year’s Sligo Live festival, which takes place over the June Bank Holiday at the city race couse.

Expected to attract up to 10,000 fans, the line-up also features Midnight Well, Declan O’Rourke, Solas, Martin Hayes & Denis Cahill, Kate Rusby, Ron Sexsmith, Mairéad & Triona Ni Dhomnaill, The Border Collies, Duke Special, Seamie O’Dowd & Rick Epping, Nocros Quartet, Guggenheim Grotto, Colin & Nicola Gillen, Donal McLynn & Friends and Peter Horan.

Add in a free trad pub trail and it sounds like a cracker of a weekend.

“Our aim is to make the June Bank Holiday synonymous with Sligo Live in the same way that the October Weekend is associated with the Cork Jazz Festival,” says Rory O’Connor who’s co-promoting the bash with Dervish’s Shane Mitchell.
