Snow Patrol for Killarney SummerFest
The show must go on: Snow Patrol will play the Killarney Summerfest, presumably with a replacement bassist
Snow Patrol have announced a July 1 visit to Fitzgerald Park as part of the Killarney SummerFest.
Tickets for the event go on sale tomorrow, March 19, priced between €44.50 and €49.50.
The announcement follows news that bassist Mark McClelland has been sacked from the band. Talking in Scotland's Daily Record, McClelland professes to being shocked by the decision.
"This is one thing that I thought would never happen. Gary (Lightbody) wanted more control and less interference. It’s a solo effort now because he’ll be the only one really contributing to the band. “I didn’t see it coming because there was no real indication of these pressures they were talking about. I went down for a meeting to discuss what I thought was about when we were going to start rehearsing and writing for the new album and they just sprung it on me.”
