Snow Patrol lead Derry Culture Capital celebrations
Just one of many top acts set to perform in the city next summer...
Snow Patrol are to play a massive July 21 2013 gig in Derry as part of the city’s Culture Capital celebrations.
In the draft programme published today, other highlights are:
January – Sons & Daughters concert featuring such local heroes as Phil Coulter and The Undertones.
April – Christy Moore and guests in Ebrington Square plus the Derry Feis featuring Fergal Sharkey, Nadine Coyle and Roma Downey.
June – Phil Coulter, Moya Brennan, Cliff Richard and friends in Ebrington Square.
September – Paul Brady, Bonnie Raitt and Mark Knopfler in Ebrington Square.
Also making Derry a must-visit in 2013 are Teenage Kicks, a musical featuring the music of The Undertones; a Jazz Festival headlined by Jools Holland, Courtney Pine and Van Morrison; a two-night mini-Belsonic; another rock and pop festival that will be split between Ebrington Square and St. Columb’s Park; and the John Peel Lecture.
Non-music events include Derry City taking on top Premier League and La Liga teams; former Doctor Who David Tennant in a one-man play; and a visit in March from the Royal Ballet.
It’s going to be one hell of a party!
