The Academy presents Kerbdog tribute album release party, Saturday March 6
The album - 'Pledge: A Tribute to Kerbdog' will feature among others, Frank Turner, Jamie Lenman (Reuben) and Dave McPherson (InMe)
On March 6, The Academy will play host to the album release of 'Pledge: A Tribute to Kerbdog', which features a mix of up-and-coming rock bands with more established acts paying homage to the Kilkenny rockers. The album also features sleeve notes from producers Jack Endino and GGGarth Richardson who worked on Kerbdog’s two albums.
Kerbdog formed in Kilkenny in 1991, and recorded two albums before splitting. In 1993, the band recorded their first album Kerbdog with Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden). Their follow-up album On The Turn was in 1996 with GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine). However, due to delays the album wasn’t released until Spring 1997. The band was subsequently dropped and the following year they disbanded. Between 2005 and 2008 they have reformed to do a number of one-off shows.
