Thin Lizzy announce additional Irish dates

The reformed band have added shows at Killarney and Mayo shows to their tour

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 09 Feb 2011

Thin Lizzy have confirmed that two additional shows will be added to the European leg of their current tour.

The band, who recently reformed with The Almighty's Ricky Warwick stepping in for the late Phil Lynott, will now stop off at the INEC, Killarney on June 4, and Castlebar's Royal Theatre on June 5.

This has undoubtedly been a tough week for the band, with the news that former guitarist Gary Moore sadly died over the weekend. On their site, drummer Brian Downey says: "I am in total shock. I have known Gary since 1967 when he was in Platform Three and he's been an amazing friend ever since. It was a pleasure to play with Gary again in 2006 after his days with Lizzy. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I just can't believe he is gone."

Guitarist Scott Gorham told Hot Press: “He had such a keen sense of humour and he was a really quick-witted guy. I’ll miss him for that – but most of all for his extraordinary gifts as a musician.”
