U2 can be on the telly
U2's Slane concert film receives its Irish premiere
Following on from its world premiere in Iceland, U2's Beautiful Day receives its first Irish TV screening on Saturday November 2nd.
Culled from the first of the band's two historic 2001 Slane headliners, it includes chat from Bono, stunning shots of the castle, crowd and grounds taken by a helicopter and backstage footage. The 50 minute show is to be aired on Network 2 at 8:55.
According to a spokesperson, "It really captures the excitement and feeling of Slane, which everyone agrees was one of the greatest live Irish shows ever". The track featured are: 'Elevation (intro)', 'Elevation', 'Beautiful Day', 'Stuck In A Moment', 'Angel Of Harlem', 'Out Of Control', 'Where The Streets Have No Name', 'Pride', 'One' and 'Walk On'.
Despite the Edge indicating at the 2002 Hot Press awards that the Slane DVD "would be out before Christmas", there is currently no date for its release.
What will be making it into the shops on December 2nd is the DVD version of U2: a Best Of 1990 – 2000.
