U2 enlist Danger Mouse

The Gnarls Barkley man has produced the new U2 album

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 21 Oct 2010

Bono has revealed that Danger Mouse (or Brian Burton to his mother) has been in charge of production duties on their new record. Speaking to theage.com, Bono said, "We have about 12 songs with him. At the moment that looks like the album we will put out next, because it's just happening so easily."

The album, tentatively titled Songs Of Ascent, is due out early next year and others may well follow hot on its heels. Bono confirmed that the Dublin band are currently working on two other albums, one of which will be a "club" record featuring Will.i.am and David Guetta.

On top of that, the Spider Man musical, for which Bono and The Edge provided the score, is set to open on Broadway next month and there is talk that U2 will record a concept album based on it.

If they can convince the drummer, that is.

"Larry definitely has a raised eyebrow," admitted the singer.
