Watch: Angel Haze & C.J. Fly in new hip-hop doc
Two of the hottest names in hip-hop are profiled in Emily Kai Bock's documentary...
New York rappers Angel Haze, Mykki Blanco and Pro Era member C.J. Fly are among the subjects for Emily Kai Block's new documentary Spit Gold Under An Empire.
The cream of New York's hip-hop underground all appear with words of wisdom based on growing up in the city and the way that things have changed over the years, and how they have adjusted to the exposure.
Those who have seen the video for Grimes' 'Oblivion' will be familiar with the work of Montreal-based film-maker Emily Kai Block. The film is a part of New American Noise, a six-part series focusing on emerging music scenes across America.
New American Noise will premier at the Sundance Film Festival which has just kicked-off stateside.
