We Cut Corners gear up for a summer of music
The fast rising stars open up in the new issue of Hot Press.
Preparing to take the stage at this summer’s Forbidden Fruit festival, pop duo We Cut Corners talked to Hot Press about festival tactics, new material and collaborations.
Their tactics are simple: “Just play your loudest fastest songs.”
Also simple are their plans for the studio this July: “We just kind of write about frivolous stuff that we happen to be going through. I think if we tried anything else, it might seem a little contrived.”
No stranger to working with other artists, the two school teachers also talked about outsourcing their music videos to filmmakers online and admitted they were unlikely to repeat the same combination of music and visuals seen in their live shows around Ireland.
Produced from a collaboration with visual wizards LeTissier, the shows featured a visual piece for every song, all projected onto a specially built set.
However, despite the success of the partnership the duo said they want to change things up “so people have something different to look at every time they come and see us”.
