Westlife cancel UK gigs
Westlife have had to cancel two shows on their current UK tour after members Shane and Nicky fell ill.
Westlife have apologised to fans because two members of the band, Shane Filan and Nicky Byrne, are ill, forcing the cancellation of last night's concert at the Nottingham Arena and the show at Cardiff International Arena planned for to-night (Tuesday). They said doctors had advised Shane and Nicky to take it easy.
However, reports from the band’s camp suggest that the tour will resume at the Birmingham NEC this coming Thursday. The postponed shows will be rescheduled and dates will be announced shortly.
The Westlife statement reads: "We are very sorry to have to postpone these shows at such short notice, we apologise to all our fans, and we can't wait to get back out there and put on a great show for you.
"Hold onto your tickets and we'll see you soon, Westlife."
The band play two dates at Belfast's Odyssey Arena on May 27 and 28; Dublin's Croke Park on June 1; Pearse Stadium, Galway, June 21; and Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney, June 22.
