Better known to cultured musos as Steve Rapid thanks to his stint in The Radiators From Space – now trading as The Trouble Pilgrims since the passing of the late, great Philip Chevron – Steve Averill swapped the stage for the design studio and became responsible for the art direction of U2 ever since he met them as The Hype and convinced them that a name change might be a decent idea. A skilled wordsmith, Steve has contributed to Hot Press and his own fanzine Lonesome Highway. He’s designed for The Script, Electric Penguins, Lucky Bones and Bipolar Empire to name a few.
