Winners for the Galway Film Fleadh were announced this morning, and the honourees included Agnes O'Casey and John Carlin.
The winners of Galway Film Fleadh were announced this morning after it wrapped up on Sunday evening.
The six day festival highlighted the best of Irish film talent, both established and emerging.
Apocalypse Clown won best Irish film under the direction of George Kane, known for his work on episodes of Inside No. 9, Wedding Season, and Time Wasters.
Agnes O'Casey was awarded Best New Talent for Lies We Tell and Miracle Club, a movie that centers around working class women of Dublin where she worked alongside Dame Maggie Smith.

She also appeared in the 2020 music video for "Holy Show" by the Pillow Queens.
Lie of the Land marked John Carlin's feature film debut, and won him Best Irish First Feature. Carlin's previous works are mostly in the field of journalism and documentaries, like Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Made a Nation.
