Special guest vocalist Lisa Hannigan will perform with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra at the 3Arena on January 21st, 2022.
GEAlive and MCD Productions have announced the acclaimed Meath musician Lisa Hannigan as the special guest for Our Planet Live in Concert at the 3Arena on 21st January 2022.
Our Planet took the world by storm when it was released in April 2019. Taking viewers on a spectacular journey of discovery, the series explores the fact that humans have become the greatest threat to the survival of our planet, and all the species that inhabit it.
Our Planet Live in Concert will reimagine the Emmy Award-winning Netflix documentary series as a live experience, combining highlights from the series with some brand new arrangements to create an immersive journey.
Specially developed by series producers Silverback Films, and Oscar-winning composer Steven Price, Our Planet Live in Concert is narrated on screen by legendary broadcaster, David Attenborough.
Price’s spine-tingling score has been reworked for an epic two-hour performance and will be performed by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra with Irish vocalist Lisa Hannigan singing alongside the 66-strong collective. Music and special effects will be delivered through 250 speakers to create a complete surround sound experience for the audience, allowing them to be further immersed in the production.
Combining the outstanding natural world visuals of Our Planet with creative innovations in live production, this concert will surely be a live experience like no other. All net profits from the Our Planet live project will be donated to WWF’s global Our Planet education and awareness initiatives.

Having emerged originally as a member of Damien Rice’s band, Lisa Hannigan has subsequently gone on to release three superb solo albums, beginning with Sea Sew (2008), which won both Best Irish Album and Best Debut Album in the Hot Press Readers Poll that year. That superb opening salvo was followed by Passenger (2011) and At Swim (2016) – the latter a collaboration with Aaron Dessner of The National.
To celebrate the concert, Hot Press are giving away two pairs of tickets to the 3Arena performance.
