Powerscourt Distillery is proud to introduce the first release in their Estate Series: the 'Mill House' Limited Edition Single Grain Amarone Finish by Fercullen Irish Whiskey.

The brand new offering was named in honour of the distillery buildings' historical anchor, their Mill House built from Wicklow granite. Part of the landscape and fabric of the Powerscourt Estate for 300 years, the water-powered Mill House was repurposed to become home to the Distillery’s Visitor Centre, complete with the original turbine built by Craig and Sons in Belfast still intact.

Having established its core range of award-winning Fercullen Irish Whiskeys, including their 8 year-old blend, 10-year-old Single Grain, 14-year-old Single Malt and 18-year-old Single Malt; Powerscourt Distillery has added the first edition from the Estate Series.

The Fercullen' Mill House' Single Grain Amarone finish is a marriage of single grain whiskeys produced in 2010, 2011 and 2012 by Powerscourt’s Master Distiller and Master Blender, Noel Sweeney. This Single Grain Irish whiskey was matured in ex-bourbon barrels, before finishing in premium Italian Amarone casks for 18 months to allow the whiskey to reach an optimum mellow combination of grain, bourbon, oak and Amarone.

To celebrate the landmark release, Hot Press are giving away a bottle of the Limited Edition Single Grain Amarone Finish, followed with a distillery warehouse tour and tasting - valued at €100 in total.

A 60-minute tour and delicious insight into a whiskey distillery will also be followed by a visit to Powerscourt Distillery's on-site maturation warehouse. The tour includes three samples of the legendary brand's Fercullen Irish Whiskeys in one of their intimate tasting rooms.
