The Adam Driver-starring film has created a huge buzz since it opened this year's Venice film festival.
The Light House Cinema are hosting a preview screening of Netflix's upcoming film White Noise on December 6th at 6:30pm, and Hot Press are giving away free tickets.
At once hilarious and horrifying, lyrical and absurd, ordinary and apocalyptic, White Noise dramatises a contemporary American family's attempts to deal with the mundane conflicts of everyday life while grappling with the universal mysteries of love, death, and the possibility of happiness in an uncertain world. Starring Adam Driver, the black comedy is filled with fantastic, hilarious performances.
The film, like the novel, centres on academic Jack Gladney (Adam Driver), who teaches Hitler studies, and his family. Both him and his pill-popping wife (Greta Gerwig) Babbette are on their fourth marriage and they have a brood of children from previous relationships, as well as one of their own. While the movie at first appears to be a family drama, things soon take a dark turn with an 'Airborne Toxic Event' affects their Midwestern community, leading them to evacuate in order to escape the chemical fallout.
Based on the book by Don DeLillo, the film was written for the screen and directed by Noah Baumbach, produced by Noah Baumbach, David Heyman and Uri Singer. Driver, who worked alongside Baumbach in Marriage Story, and Little Women director Greta Gerwig, Baumbach's long-term collaborator and wife, star in the part family drama/part disaster movie alongside Black Monday's Don Cheadle.
It will be shown in select cinemas from November 25th before it lands on Netflix on December 30th.
