US outfit Parquet Courts have announced Michigan act Fat Dog as their special guest for their upcoming Dublin show.
Following the release of last year’s brand new album Sympathy For Life, New York rock act Parquet Courts are gearing up for their Dublin show in The Helix on 11th June 2022.
Luckily for you, Hot Press have nabbed a pair of tickets worth €29.80 each to give away to some lucky fans.
Sympathy For Life finds the Brooklyn band at both their most instinctive and electronic, spinning their bewitching, psychedelic storytelling into fresh territory, yet maintaining their unique identity.
Built largely from improvised jams, inspired by New York clubs, Primal Scream and Pink Floyd and produced in league with Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, Hot Chip, David Byrne), Parquet Courts' latest LP was always destined to be dance-centred. Unlike its globally adored predecessor, 2018’s Top 30 hit Wide Awake!, the focus fell on grooves rather than rhythm.
"Wide Awake! was a record you could put on at a party,” co-frontman Austin Brown explained in a statement. “’Sympathy For Life’ is influenced by the party itself.
“Our goal was to bring that into our own music. Each of us, in our personal lives, has been going to more dance parties. Or rather, we were pre-pandemic, which is when this record was made.”
