Richardson will play tracks from new album Smiling Like An Idiot when she takes to the 3Olympia Theatre stage to play her biggest headline show so far on Thursday, 20th October.
Hot Press are offering you the chance to win tickets to Dublin singer-songwriter Sorcha Richardson's upcoming headline show at the 3Olympia Theatre on October 20th this year.
The indie artist has been busy cultivating a fanbase for several years, with tracks like ‘Ruin Your Night’, ‘Honey’ and ‘Petrol Station’ garnering huge streaming numbers and even finding celebrity listeners. In November of 2019, Richardson released the biggest artistic statement of her career with her debut album, First Prize Bravery. One Choice Music Prize nomination and a pandemic later, her second offering was ready.
The recent video for 'Shark Eyes' featured Irish comic Michael Fry, with previewed single 'Archie' acting as the heart-felt opener of the LP.
After travelling to venues and record stores up and down the country in support of the release of her sophomore album Smiling Like An Idiot, Sorcha Richardson was ecstatic to see the album reach the number 4 spot in the Irish Album Charts and number 1 in the Indie Album charts.
“The last Irish headline show I did was at the Academy, so to be playing the 3Olympia Theatre is massive for me,” she told Hot Press last month of her upcoming show. “Another one is the church at Other Voices; that feels like hallowed ground. I want people to connect with these songs, because they’re made for live listening. They’re bigger, more textured and more expansive than the first album.”
