The Arts Council and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media announce funding for 14 Arts Centres to open their doors into the dark winter evenings as part of the Late-Night Events Pilot Scheme.
The Late-Night Events Pilot Scheme intends to diversify late-night activities, create job opportunities for creatives, and welcome new audiences into existing cultural facilities.
The programme is designed as part of the Government's Night-Time Economy interventions, a €2 million scheme to help existing arts and cultural spaces open their doors to new late night activity.
The €2 million scheme's funding was allocated to support venues that operate late at night to implement noise reduction measures. Funding was available to improve soundproofing and other noise mitigation measures at late night venues, with a maximum grant of €70,000 available per application
Today's announcement sees some €730,000 euros distributed among 14 arts centre across the country.
