From Ugg boots to the Hemsworths, here's some of the best things Hot Press think came out of Australia!
1. Wi-fi
Invented in 1991, Wi-fi is top of the list kicking off our top 10 things to come out of Oz! And let's face it, where would the internet be today with out the constant ability to upload a selfie (another Australian invention) to Instagram without plugging in.
2. Steve Irwin
Nicknamed the 'crocodile hunter', Steve made his way into our homes and hearts with his fearless passion for getting up close to Australia's most dangerous animals! And we think that's excellent!
3. Accadacca
Or more commonly known as AC/DC to all us non Ozzie folk, first formed in 1973 and have since sold over 200 million albums worldwide!

4. Heath Ledger
Who doesn't love Heath Ledger? He set the bar at a new high for method actors during his role as The Joker in The Dark Night before his tragic passing in 2008.
5. Home and Away
While it's a little known fact that Heath Ledger featured in this on going drama, it definitely deserves it's own mention with 31 seasons and counting!
6. All of their adorable animals!
From Koalas to Platypus! Australia has more than its fair share of cute animals to see, as long as you remember to avoid the killer snakes and spiders, you should have fun. Did you know they even have their own species of penguin? And where would we be if we failed to mention Skippy the Bush Kangaroo!

7. The Hemsworths
This really speaks for itself, both Chris and Liam are talented and gorgeous! But did you know they also had a third brother, Luke, who's also featured on Home and Away?
8. Ugg Boots
These warm fur-lined boots were originally introduced to The Australian surf culture in the 1970s before becoming all the rage globally 30 years later. Almost everyone's owned a pair at some stage, including my dad, who's been known to sneak my cozy slippers occasionally "just to take the bins out"... I don't buy it. But Uggs are great.
9. Baz Luhrmann
He brought us 'The Great Gatsby', 'Romeo and Juliet' and (my favourite movie), 'Australia', which is fitting for the day that's in it! So cheers Baz, and cheers Australia!
