Cartoon Network confirmed that Adventure Time: Elements, the third of the cartoon’s miniseries, will air later this month.
It has been announced that Elements’ first episode will kick off at April 24. The eight-part season will from there on show two episodes every night, concluding on April 27.
The special episodes will follow the plot, where the previous miniseries Islands left off. It sees both of the main characters, the human Finn and Jake the dog, return to Ooo just to discover that it has changed to a different much weirder state. The two will be joined by the Ice King, Betty and Princess Bubblegum, who is singing the theme song for Elements.
When Islands premiered in January 2017 it reached nearly four million viewers, while 2015’s special episodes Stakes are ranked as the No. 1 program in its time period with all key kids and boys audience.
Adventure Time is set to wrap up in 2018, so specials like this get fewer, as this years miniseries will also be the series’ last one. The production for the ninth and final season of the science fiction series is already finished, which brings the much beloved cartoon closer to an end.

During its run, Adventure Time received a lot of positive reviews from critics and developed a fandom no only among children, but also attracted teenagers and adults to watch it. The show which was produced by Pendleton Ward, received six Emmys as well as a Peabody and BAFTA award.
