The third installment of All Ireland Metal's Aiséirí series will be released on Friday, April 29th with proceeds going to Women's Aid.
The All Ireland Metal project has returned with its third offering, Aiséirí : Volume III. Uniting musicians from all four provinces of Ireland, the project is the largest collaborative effort to date from the Irish metal scene. It is set to release on Friday, April 29th and is available for preorder, here.
In addition to bringing together a creative community devastated by the pandemic, the album will also stand as a fundraiser for Women's Aid — staying true to the All Ireland Metal ethos of giving back to communities in need.
Founded in 2021 by Aborted Earth musicians Darragh O'Connor and Shannon Bowman, the concept is modeled after a similar approach from Roadrunner United — a U.S. conglomerate formed in the 2000s.
"Myself and a lot of folks my age in the scene grew up with Roadrunner United, so it appears that this project is something that a lot of us wanted to do for years," said O'Connor. "I believe this was the right time, thanks to technology and the position we found ourselves in to make this happen. Roadrunner United gave us the roadmap to do a project like this. But never before has an entire country made a set of albums."
The previous two volumes saw huge success within the Irish metal scene — raising €2,500 for Barnardos children's charity in 2021.
“In 2021, I chose the charity but for 2022, we wanted to crowdsource the charity. After the brutal and deeply tragic murder of Aisling Murphy. It was decided that Women’s Aid was the clear choice after a vote in January 2022. They do fantastic work and we’re proud to work with them," O'Connor continued.

Though the album will be available to stream on Spotify, The All Ireland Metal project wants to emphasise the fact that it is for charity, and urges fans to purchase the album and merch. They can be found, here.
To celebrate the launch, All Ireland Metal will be holding an Aiséirí live event, featuring Words That Burn, War of Attrition and Restive Nation. The gig will take place on the release night, Friday the 29th of April, at Sin É. Tickets are priced at €10, and are available to purchase at the door or online.
