Apple has given a straight-to-series order for a new comedy series written by ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ stars, Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day.
The pair have been writers, executive producers and stars of the hit comedy programme ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ since it’s creation in 2005. The show is currently about to enter its 13th season.
The new series is as yet untitled and very little is known about the project. What we do know is that McElhenney and Day are set to write and executive produce the series. McElhenney is also set to star. Other executive producers include 3 Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Nick Frenkel and Ubisoft’s Gerard Guillemont, Jason Altman and Danielle Krenik. The inclusion of executive producers from the video game company, Ubisoft, are particularly noteworthy since the show is set to take place in a video game development studio.

This is the first project Day and McElhenney have worked together as writers since ‘It’s Always Sunny’. There is no release date for the series as of yet but ‘It’s Always Sunny’ will be premiering their 13th season on FXX on September 5.
