Northern Ireland composer/producer Amerik (Adam Booth) will release his 'Bouquet' EP this Friday, April 23rd.
Adam Booth (AKA Amerik) has shared a beautiful live performance of his latest single 'Olive' from Belfast's Central Church, recorded on March 5th.
Featuring Gareth Dunlop's raw vocals and filmed by Shane Walsh and Niall Fegan; the stripped-back rendition of 'Olive' brings out the true emotion within the song.
A marriage of darkly electronic sounds and personal introspective lyricism; the ambient depth of 'Olive' is perfectly explored within fellow Belfast man Dunlop's vocals. The acoustic performance serves to accentuate Dunlop's intense vocal talent while highlighting Amerik's natural ability as a producer, which shines even without his incredible electronic soundscape of synths.
"There is just such depth and honesty in Gareth’s lyrics, I just wanted to capture that live, but really strip it back," Amerik tells Hot Press.
"Recording it live at the beautiful Central Church in Belfast only added to the dynamics and the story the song tells."

Fusing rich synths and chordal progressions, 'Olive' acts as a rousing marker of what Amerik's 'Bouquet' EP will achieve. Adam Booth's forthcoming collaborative EP features four of the best local songwriters - including Gareth Dunlop, Travi The Native, Little Rivers and Pete Wallace.
As a songwriter, Gareth Dunlop's brand of rugged, soulful-acoustic style has been picked up by a diverse set of artists. His golden vocals have appeared in the likes of Lucifer, Nashville and One Tree Hill in the past. By splitting his time between Belfast and Nashville, Dunlop has refined his style while touring with the likes of Van Morrison, The Stereophonics, Snow Patrol and James Morrison
