The Answer's frontman has revealed details of the upcoming single off his debut solo album, White Feather.
Cormac Neeson has revealed that his next single 'Broken Wing' will be released on March 22nd. This will be the sophomore release from his upcoming album White Feather, which is due out April 12th 2019.
A deeply poignant and meaningful song, co-written by Neeson and Tenessee Legend Blue Miller, the inspiration behind 'Broken Wing' came from Neeson's son, Dabhog, who was born three months premature with Downs Syndrome. The song details an autobiographical and emotional account of how Neeson felt and the experience of bringing up a child with a disability.
White Feather will be the debut solo outing of Neeson, formerly the frontman of The Answer. The first track off the album, 'Don't Wait Up', was released last year and featured as Hot Press' Track of The Day.
Speaking of the meaning behind his upcoming release Neeson said, "I've never written a song like 'Broken Wing' before in my life. Even though I've heard it hundreds of times now, I still get emotional every time I sing or hear it back because of just how relevant the lyric is to my life and my family's life; where we've been and where we're going. It's my hope that maybe when people hear this song they can relate to the message or at least give some thought as to what it's about".

Recorded in Nashville and mixed in Belfast, the track features a mixture of both cultures resulting in a beautiful country-styled lullaby. Vulnerable, delicate and moving, the song also showcases choral backing vocals from some of the finest Northern Irish singers.
Neeson will also shoot a short documentary about the making of 'Broken Wing', during which he gets a tattoo of the Down Syndrome chromosome 21 on his shoulder.
Tour dates in support of his debut album will be released soon.
