The beloved boozer has been a staple of the Liberties since it first opened its doors in late 2019.
The popular Dublin 8 pub Anti Social has announced it will permanently close its doors this weekend.
The Francis Street boozer has served as a staple of the Liberties since it first opened in late 2019. The bar managed to stay open during the worst of the coronavirus pandemic and its ensuing lockdown restrictions, but has now announced that this Sunday, March 19th, will be its last.
"All good things must come to an end and unfortunately it’s that time for us at Anti Social,” a statement on the pub's Instagram page said.
“We’ve had incredible fun over the years since we opened and cannot thank all of our great customers and staff enough for spending it with us! This Sunday March 19th will be our last day open so join us over the next few days for the last farewell, some pints, cocktails and bit of craic!” the statement continued, ending with the sign-off: “Anti Social Team x”.

Since the announcement, many tributes for the bar have poured out online. Their Instagram statement alone garnered over 1,400 likes with over 100 comments expressing sadness for the closure and gratitude for their experiences at the pub.
Anti Social, which is co-owned by Hot Press cover star and DJ Marcus O'Laoire, has become known for its successful cocktail delivery service, expansive taco menu, vibrant live music scene and widely-played arcade games.
In an Instagram statement of his own, O'Laoire wrote: “Thank you to every single person who supported Anti and the staff and customers that made it great.”
