Anyone with a fear of flying might want to avoid the MAN OF STEEL app for Windows Marketplace. The app will have you feeling like Superman, soaring above the world with your cape flowing behind you. Users can play games, download wallpapers for the film, use ringtones, and check out DC’s original comic books. Nokia Lumia is running competitions for happy-snappers to win movie tickets and merchandise.
PATH allows Facebook users to share files up to 1GB in size. The app uses peer-to-peer file-sharing tech through a simple drag and drop interface.

Dublin City University (DCU) has dished out an award to a final-year student behind a new app, SCANDROID, a barcode-scanning app designed to help visually impaired and blind shoppers. The app takes the barcode from the product and uses an online tool to read out the information to the shopper. Inventor Kaylee Cherry was inspired by the National Council for the Blind of Ireland.
