The Galway Comedy Festival is coming back after a two-year hiatus.
The Galway Comedy Festival kicks off with a charity livestream at 8pm tonight for mental health organisation Let’s Get Talking.
You can enjoy the sold-out Opening Gala at the Black Box Theatre from the comfort of your own couch tonight (October 19th), as comedians Ardal O'Hanlon, Rich Hall, Emma Doran, and Aideen McQueen take the stage for an evening full of laughter. The event will be hosted by Andrew Maxwell of Ex on the Beach fame. Best of all, the proceeds will go to a good cause.
The week-long festival is going to take over Galway until October 25th, with 45 shows and more than 80 performers participating. Nina Conti, Ed Byrne, and Reginald D. Hunter are just a few of the comedians that will be taking the stage through the week. The festival is more than just stand up, with improv shows like Faulty Towers The Dining Experience - based on the eponymous iconic '70s TV show - also sure to crack audiences up.
Proceeds from the livestream will be going to Irish mental health charity Let’s Get Talking. The group provides counselling and psychotherapy on a non-set fee, making sure that no one is excluded from accessing mental health support due to their financial circumstances.
