Artist and DJ, Mo Kelly, is set to hold her next art exhibition – 'Áilleacht Na hOíche: Night Beauty' – at Studio10 on Wicklow Street, Dublin 2 on November 16.
Fine art painter and Dublin native, Mo Kelly, will hold her twenty-first exhibition on November 16, marking her first terrestrial show since the end of lockdown.
This highly anticipated showcase presents a captivating exploration of themes centred around isolation, memory, grief, and the passage of time.
Studio10 on Wicklow Street, Dublin 2 will host the event with a drinks reception at the venue from 6-9pm.
Speaking on her work, she says: "My paintings peer through the gossamer screen between our world and the next. Memories decay and vitality is fleeting but etched deep within our minds lie vistas so uniquely ours, romanticised into almost total abstraction and wonder. They stand as a luminous thread to the heart.”
Her art is both traditional yet innovative dancing on the line between realism and abstraction with urban and nocturnal influences.
The artist's unique style grabbed the attention of curators who were organizing the 'See Me - Art Takes Time Square' event. As a result, her artwork was displayed on the largest billboard in Times Square.
Her painting, titled 'Sequestered Nook,' was used as the cover art for the critically acclaimed book Unsettled by Rosaleen McDonagh.
Mo Kelly has made a name for herself not just as a visual artist but also as a successful DJ and musician. Her performances have taken her all over the world and she has worked on original compositions for both fashion shows and dance floors.
Mo believes that her two creative pursuits truly complement and enhance each other.
