One of Ireland's most beloved bands, Bagatelle, has announced a special tribute show in January at the National Opera House in honour of their late lead singer Liam Reilly.
On January 6th, 2024, Bagatelle will be joined by special guests Donna Marie Sludd and Shane Mc Donald for the performance. Tickets will be made available this Friday, October 6 at 10 am.
Reilly passed on January 1, 2021, at the age of 65. After his passing, TG4 aired a documentary about him called Bagatelle - Ómos do Liam Reilly and the remaining members of the band decided to resume touring to celebrate the life and legacy of the frontman.
Originally from Dundalk, Liam Reilly formed Bagatelle, along with Wally McConville, in August 1978. Bassist Ken Doyle and guitarist John O'Brien joined the group and the four-piece quickly emerged as one of Ireland’s brightest pop talents.
Eventually becoming one of Ireland's biggest bands, Bagatelle achieved several number-one singles with the likes of 'Summer in Dublin', 'Second Violin' and 'Trump Card'. All written by frontman Reilly, they received recognition for several classic emigration songs, including 'Streets of New York', 'Flight of the Earls' and 'Boston Rose'.
