Fans of the hit TV show will be thrilled to learn that CBS has decided to go ahead asap with the 'Young Sheldon' spin-off.
Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory, will narrate the new TV show about his younger nine-year-old character who is already such a genius that he's attending High School in his hometown of Texas.
The new show, which will air later this year, will star Iain Armitage as the young Sheldon and Zoe Perry will play the role of his mother. Other actors confirmed to appear on the show include Lance Barber, Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan.
The TV network is so confident about the show that it's already "ordered" an entire season of episodes, while the producers are still doing pre-production work on the pilot episode. Normally a TV network will wait until after viewing a pilot before deciding on whether or not to go ahead and order a full season of shows, but CBS feel they have a smash hit on their hands with Young Sheldon. It will air during the 2017-2018 broadcast season, but the exact number of shows has yet to be finalised.
