American users can expect TikTok to be removed from app stores on January 19, with many already downloading alternatives like RedNote.
Bob Dylan has joined TikTok four days before its anticipated ban in the US.
The account, @bobdylan, currently has one video posted. It includes a series of clips from across Dylan's career to the songs ‘Like a Rolling Stone’, ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door’, and ‘Hurricane.’ The TikTok video ends with the words, “Bob Dylan now on TikTok.”

The popular social media app, owned by Chinese company ByteDance, plans to shut down in the US by January 19 unless action is taken by the Supreme Court. This comes after President Joe Biden signed a bipartisan bill in April of 2024, giving ByteDance the option to either sell to an American company or cease operations in the US.
The law stems from concerns for national security, and the level of access the Chinese government may have to users' data. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) views the law as a violation of citizen's freedom of speech.

“Bob Dylan save TikTok,” one user commented.
Another wrote, “Thank you for being here in your perfect timing. Thank you for always being a revolutionary!”
Dylan’s arrival to TikTok comes after the release of his new biopic, A Complete Unknown. Directed by James Mangold, the film follows Dylan's rising career starring Dune actor Timothée Chalamet.
