This June at Ballinlough Castle, Body & Soul boasts an impressive and lengthy lineup of talented must-see entertainers, amplifying innovative voices in comedy, creativity and curiosity.
Body & Soul Festival returns this summer in Co. Westmeath with a building lineup of cultural and creative voices pushing the boundaries of what a festival can be. On the summer solstice weekend of June 17-19, the female-led creative production house offers a curation of experiences for “adventurous” audiences, with more guests still to be announced.
Special podcasts from The Blindboy Boatclub and Kate Hutchinson’s ‘The Last Bohemians’ will be recorded live with a festival audience, a new addition to Body & Soul. Hosted by Dave Chambers, the Blindboy Podcast rakes in over 1 million global listeners and is known for delivering ‘hot takes’ and comedic social commentary. Suzanne Ciani, one of the world’s most successful electronic musicians (and creator of Coca-Cola’s pop sound), will perform live after a conversation with ‘The Last Bohemians’ for the musician’s debut in Ireland.
Adored Irish comic keyboard Dave O’Doherty and stand-up/MC Shane Daniel Byrne, along with other home-grown comedic talents, will be hosted for live comedy performances in Ballinlough’s new gardens presented by Bulmers.
The festival places an emphasis on diversity and range with its musical lineup, offering a little bit of everything for every ear. Conversations about pop music pre-rock will be held by author Bob Stanley, followed by a DJ set inspired by his book Let’s Do It: The Birth of Pop.
Musical artists Róisín Murphy, Remi Wolf, Yves Tumor and more are set to play at the festival so far, with more artists to be announced leading up to the solstice weekend. Hennessy will also return to the festival this year with their always-anticipated Hip Hop House, boasting an exciting lineup of Irish and global hip hop acts such as Mango x MathMan, Malaki, Aby Coulibaly, Monjola and more.

A sonic experience from electric-rock sitarist BISHI, who will play a live set from her anti-racist and anti-division album Let My Country Awake, ‘The Black Power Tarot,’ an installation of music culture-influenced tarot card images by musician King Khan and artist Michael Eaton, and Jon Hopkins’ Music for Psychedlic Therapy are among some of the innovative and immersive experiences the festival offers.
There’s so much more in store at Body & Soul Festival: a sing-along social in the daytime, Billy Mag Fhloinn’s Pagan Rave, disco and drag from Mother. All and more to be held around the festival grounds, featuring a new 35ft tall Beacon Stage stage.
Along with Bulmers, the festival urges artists and creative minds to submit living artwork concepts for an installation celebrating Ireland’s wild bees. The winning submission will receive €5,000 to fund, develop, and install their piece.
Body & Soul will take place this June 17-19 at Ballinlough Castle Estate in Co. Westmeath. General release ticket packages are on sale now via their website, where you can also see the full festival lineup and follow along for more announcements leading up to the event.
