A host of key Irish authors have been confirmed for attendance at the annual Dublin Book Festival this November.
The Dublin Book Festival aims to showcase the exciting literary landscape across the country by celebrating Irish writing and publishing. Events will cover a range of genres from health to literary fiction, business, illustration and children’s literature. Everything from readings, public interviews, debates, book launches and workshops will take place during the extended weekend in November.
Now in its 12th year, the Dublin Book Festival continues to be a staple event on the literary calendar and provides something for older and younger readers alike.
The programme of events is set to feature prominent figures in the Irish literary scene including Jason Byrne, Niall Breslin, Luke O’Neill, Caroline Busher, Paula Meehan, Rob Doyle, Joseph O’Connor, Melatu Uche Okorie, Emilie Pine, John Boyne, Dr. Harry Barry, Alison Keating among many more. With such a broad range of authors, poets and playwrights, there is sure to be something of interest to everyone.
The locus of the festival will be in the Smock Alley Theatre, Temple Bar, with satellite venues dispersed around the city center in spaces such as National Botanic Gardens, The Gutter Bookshop, Irish Writers Centre, Fighting Words, National Library of Ireland and the RDS library.
Coming into Winter, the festival is sure to provide a great chance to scour for the perfect fire-side read. Or, if you're particularly savvy, you can use it as a chance to generate some gift ideas before the Christmas rush.
