Britney Spears and Sam Asghari became engaged in September last year, with Spears joking that the proposal was “way overdue”.
Britney Spears' partner Sam Asghari has just confirmed the pop singer's pregnancy in a heartwarming social media outpour, just months after she broke free of her conservatorship.
Posting to Instagram this morning, Tehran native Sam Asghari shared a note about fatherhood and his plans to not take it 'lightly' after the baby arrives.
“Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect,” he captioned the photo. “Fatherhood is something i have always looked forward to and i don’t take lightly. It is the most important job i will ever do," he wrote alongside a photo of a lion, a lioness and their cub.

The 'Toxic' singer first hinted towards a potential pregnancy in an Instagram post yesterday.
“I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back. I thought, ‘Geez...what happened to my stomach ???’” Spears wrote.
“My husband said ’No you’re food pregnant silly!!!’. So I got a pregnancy test...and uhhhhh well...I am having a baby.”
“It’s growing !!!” she continued. “If two are in there...I might just lose it," the 40-year-old said about the possibility of having twins.

Spears previously shared that she “wants a family” with the 28-year-old Iranian-born fitness model.

The pop superstar said she “won’t be going out much” following her announcement, recalling her perinatal depression and mental health struggles as a result of paparazzi's consistent hounding.
Spears already has two children, Sean and Jayden, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
A 13-year conservatorship which had controlled Spears’ life was terminated by Los Angeles Superior Court in November last year, with much activism from the #FreeBritney movement and the Framing Britney Spears documentary by The New York Times highlighting her case.
Britney was placed under the complex legal arrangement in 2008 amid mental health issues, but said it had prevented her having more children, insisting on an IUD being implanted.
