Springsteen's 'My Hometown' soundtracks the new campaign ad.
Fresh from the release of his latest album, Letter To You, last month, Bruce Springsteen features as the narrator of Joe Biden's new campaign advertisement. The soundtrack to the video, which pays homage to Biden's hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, also includes Springsteen's Born in the U.S.A. single, 'My Hometown'.
“Scranton, Pennsylvania," Springsteen says in the voiceover for the campaign ad. "Here, success isn’t handed down. It’s forged with sweat, grit and determination. This is his hometown. In Scranton, good times aren’t promised. But here, and in towns across America, times are harder than they ought to be. Lives are on pause, dreams on hold, futures in doubt.”
Springsteen previously allowed his single 'Street Of Philadelphia' to be used in Don Winslow's #AmericaNeedsPennsylvania video – urging Pennsylvanian voters not to support Trump in the upcoming election.
Biden and Trump are set to go head to head in the US presidential election tomorrow, November 3. Both candidates have spent the final hours of their respective campaigns travelling to swing states across America – with Biden speaking at an event in Pennsylvania, and Trump holding rallies in Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
