A candlelit Daft Punk tribute concert is set to take place in Denmark Street's O’Reilly Theatre on 22 July.
Performed by the Avoca String Quartet, the Dublin iteration of the worldwide series will set out to provide an intimate, candlelit setting to enjoy and discover some of the acclaimed electronic duo’s greatest hits.
The pair formed in Paris in 1993. Their career spanned 28 years and consisted of 4 studio albums and 14 Grammy wins.
In 2014 their album Random Access Memories took home 4 Grammy awards. The record included the worldwide hit 'Get Lucky' which featured Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers and brought the French band to a whole new audience.
Daft Punk retired in 2021 in typically enigmatic fashion with a video titled 'epilogue'. Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, dressed in their iconic robot gear, said their farewells in the desert , before one of them self-destructed.
