Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds has died from a massive stroke less than 24 hours after her daughter’s tragic death.
According to newspaper reports, the 84-year-old’s last words were, “I want to be with Carrie.”
Carrie Fisher was only 60-years-old when she died on Tuesday from complications that stemmed from a heart attack she suffered on Christmas Eve, while flying home to Los Angeles for the Christmas holidays.
Debbie Reynolds was with her son planning Carrie’s funeral yesterday when she collapsed from a suspected stroke and died in hospital a few hours later.
Her son Todd Fisher said, "She's now with Carrie and we're all heartbroken."
In her last Facebook post on 27 December, Debbie Reynolds wrote: "Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carries Mother."
Debbie Reynolds will be best remember for co-starring with Gene Kelly in the 1952 musical ‘Singin’ In The Rain’. She also starred in ‘The Unsinkable Molly Brown’, ‘How The West Was Won’, ‘The Second Time Around’, and ‘The Debbie Reynolds Show,’ which ran from 1969 to 1970.
In more recent times, she appeared in ‘One for the Money’, ‘Family Guy’ and ‘Will & Grace’.
