The six track project was written by Celaviedmai and co-produced, mixed and mastered by Alan McKee.
Galway hip-hop sensation Celaviedmai has announced that her debut EP Both Sides of the Story will officially land this Thursday, March 31st.
The rapper describes this EP as an opportunity to showcase the different sides of her musical story, with flavours from various parts of her personality - from poetry to trap and plenty of surprises in between.
Both Sides of the Story takes listeners on a journey from emotional reflections like those on the successful lead single 'HEAL', to the energetic track 'WORK'.
Both the 'HEAL' single and the video, directed by Bekah Molony, explore a softer, more vulnerable side of the acclaimed rapper, who's typically known for her hard-hitting lyricism and high-energy live performances. Celaviedmai rejected the internal and external pressures on women to constantly portray themselves as powerful and fearlessly defiant, by offering up what is undoubtedly her most personal track yet.
The EP's outro 'People Issues' looks at the barriers that Celaviedmai faces as a female rapper in Ireland, with clever lyrics and an experimental format. As her flow switches her target audience switches: She goes from addressing her hip-hop counterparts about undermining her, to the music industry for using her as their token black girl and ends with assuring everyone, that despite the challenges, she will rise above the negativity and continue to do what she does best.

Celaviedmai has had an exciting start to the year. On March 17, she celebrated the release of the explosive, trap Gaeilge banger 'New Celtic Flow' with Blue Niall and delivered a standout performance at St. Patrick's Festival's Mo Cultivation event. Cela also opened for UK duo Nova Twins in Dublin's iconic venue Whelan’s and had her Ireland in Music performance (filmed at Kilbaron Castle in Donegal) premiered as part of the SEODA 2022 programme.
The rest of the year is looking busy with a Forbidden Fruit festival slot, appearance at Wildroots Sligo and more to be announced. For more information about the Galway artist, visit celaviedmai.com.
