When Tracey released her debut album Black Forest in October 2022, she said that one of the best parts was "making an album while the world was shut down."
Irish singer-songwriter Clara Tracey has announced a full band show at Dublin's Workmans Cellar on June 8th to celebrate the vinyl release of her debut album Black Forest. The album was released digitally in October 2022 and will be available on vinyl starting June 9th.
With Black Forest, Tracey creates an entry into her magical yet realistic world where "women reign, stained glass masterpieces come to life, and fantasies are playfully erotic," it says in the press materials.
The long-awaited album is highly acclaimed by critics and well received by fans. Following the album's release in October 2022, Tracey played several sold-out concerts on her first Ireland tour, which eventually led to Tracey's deserved appearance in many media outlets.

Tracey, who grew up in a Catholic community in Northern Ireland in the 1990s, understands the sense of oppression that some queer people still feel there and thus celebrates her newfound sexual liberation.

She began writing songs as a way to escape the monotony of her first job and continued it for several years before meeting Daniel Fox (Gilla Band) in March 2020. They began recording Tracey's songs during lockdowns, which led to the use of found organs and synths in a 70s/90s Gainsbourg meets Stereolab production style.
"Musically it was a bit of a departure from the way I usually write songs," Tracey said. "I had just gotten a Nord (which had its own side of the bed for a while) and was experimenting more with Ableton so it was conceived as a full band not a piano arrangement from the get go."
To get a taste of Tracey's new music and unique sound, she is playing a free gig in the backroom of Dundalk's Spirit Store on May 25th. The concert will be followed by a UK and Ireland tour with shows at Dublin's Workman's Cellar on June 8th and London's Rough Trade West on June 14th.
Tickets are available starting today, April 19th, and can be purchased here.
