Coachella and its sibling festival, Stagecoach, will now take place throughout October instead of April. No comment has yet been made about the lineup.
After much speculation, Coachella organisers Goldenvoice have officially announced that the festival, along with its country music-focused sibling festival Stagecoach, will be postponed to October at the direction of local health authorities.
Originally slated to take place over two weekends, April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19, the iconic Indio, California festival will now take place on October 9 to 11 and October 16 to 18. Stagecoach will now take place the following weekend, from October 23 to 25.
Tickets for the original dates will be valid for the new ones and attendees will be given information on how to obtain refunds.
No comment has yet been made about Coachella's line-up, although sources have said that Goldenvoice have reached out to agents and artists to preserve as much of the original line-up as possible. Rage Against the Machine, Frank Ocean and Travis Scott were slated to headline and Irish powerhouses Fontaines D.C. and The Murder Capital were also scheduled to give performances across both weekends.
Goldenvoice said in their statement: "While this decision comes at a time of universal uncertainty, we take the safety and health of our guests, staff and community very seriously."
