Sweden-based electronic artist Jape has been announced as special guest at the IMMA's Continuous Patterns festival.
The Continuous Patterns festival has just announced electronic rock band Jape as their special guest for Saturday July 14.
The two days of music and art take place on the grounds of IMMA on July 14th and 15th. Irish producer Jape also played at last week at Wicklow's Beyond the Pale festival, marking Richie Egan's first live show since 2021.
Jape's last album, This Chemical Sea rose to number eight in the Irish Album Charts in 2015. The outfit toured from Sweden to Spain, though most of their dates remained in Ireland and the U.K.
Dubliner Richie Egan, has spent the last few years composing and producing music for shows on Nickelodeon, Amazon Prime, Nexus, and RTE. Jape's most recent album 9K HI, Vol. 1 arrived on November 11th 2022 via Faction Records.
"EUGH sounds like the memory of a rave to me," Jape says of the track's origins. "I became obsessed with old samplers making this bunch of tunes, particularly the Casio FZ1. I think it sounds very emotional, and reminds us of a time when there were limitations with creativity which forced the creator to make decisions early on and stick to them. There is a lot of freedom in that. "
