Listen to Bannon singer-songwriter LYRA's latest release below.
If you're itching for a new anthemic song, look no further than LYRA's latest release: 'Lose My Mind.'
Having grown up in a musical family, LYRA – real name Laura McNamara – has always been interested in music. In 2016, the Cork singer-songwriter released her debut single 'Rabbit in the Headlights.'
"Before that, I'd been called into a lot of record labels, but I didn't think that I was ready as an artist," she explained. "They were very much trying to put me in a lane that I didn't want to be in. A bit more poppy, a bit more polished I suppose, a bit more sexy. I knew that that wasn't going to be me in the long road, so I decided to take my fate into my own hands and bring out my own EP and tell my story of how I saw myself."
Her last release was in 2020, and with the return of the live music industry in Ireland, she's ready to "let it rip."
"I want people to feel free when they listen - like they can come out of their shells and just enjoy the music," she explains.

Today she released her single 'Lose My Mind,' a Lorde-inspired dance track.
"I didn't want it to go down the road like my other songs where it was massive and loads of drums and loads of strings and the kitchen sink. I wanted to strip it back, but it still have that really cool edge to it," said McNamara.
Though it's a bit of a departure from her typical sound, the single is a perfect introduction to her upcoming album. It also still features a Celtic drum sound, a signature element she loves to include in her music.
"There are definitely a lot more songs that I'm keeping in the vein of 'Falling' and 'Lose My Mind,'" she teased about her forthcoming project. "I'm setting up this story that it's going to sonically progress. I'll still have the really high note songs coming out as well, but there's a few numbers in there that people are going to be like, 'This one's different'."
The release of 'Lose My Mind' is just the beginning for LYRA. In addition to her upcoming album, she's set to perform on New Year Eve's at Dublin Castle alongside Picture This and embark on a tour next year.
"I'm just going to keep going until somebody tells me not to, and then I'll probably still plough ahead."
