Get set for a night of New Orleans Mardi Gras magic, featuring our recent Hot Press interviewees Tebi Rex...
In just over a week, a host of special guests – including rapidly rising hip-hop stars Tebi Rex – will descend on Dublin, for a thrilling night of Mardi Gras and Musical Voodoo. Hot Press and and the good folk from Southern Comfort are teaming up to offer a real taste of New Orleans in D2, with Carnival Spirit at Lost Lane, Dublin, on Tuesday, February 25.
The celebrations will be headlined on the Main Stage by Ireland's favourite New Orleans-inspired band Booka Brass – who will be joined by a surprise special guest! The Main Stage will also play host to DJ Marcus O'Laoire on the night, as well as acclaimed alternative hip-hop duo Tebi Rex, before they jet off to SXSW in Austin, Texas this March.
"I love the line-up, the venue and the event," one half of Tebi Rex, Matt O'Baoill said of Carnival Spirit in his recent interview with Hot Press's Ingrid Angulo. "We're gonna absolutely go for it!"
Read the full interview with Tebi Rex, in which they discuss their debut album The Young Will Eat The Old, the dangers of fame and what makes Irish hip-hop so special, here.
In the Singer's House, meanwhile, you'll find the spellbinding Dr. Michael Mac Jr. on keys, Broken String Jones on guitar and the soulful Jess Kavanagh on vocals.
