Not simply pure choices of quality or effectiveness, these are intensely subjective and personal footnotes to my own youth when music was just opening up to me. All of my choices are pictorially or typographically led. I don't tend to like photos of ugly musicians. Moreover, I was always attracted to something more than just the nice picture up front. My collection therefore inludes gatefolds, fold-outs, transparent plastic, fluorescent ink, stickers, and are often just part of a series. The back or the inside is usually as appealing to me as the front, but you'll have to take my word for it.
